Accident on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Results in 12 Passengers Being Burnt
The incident involved a Mazda bus with the registration number DDA733 XA around Malo in the Ogere area of the expressway.
A spokesperson for the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, stated that four other passengers were injured.
The injured individuals were taken to Patmag Hospital, Ogere.
The suspected cause of the lone crash was wrongful overtaking by the bus driver, which led to the loss of control, causing the bus to hit the road divider and burst into flames around 3 pm.
Akinwunmi Fasakin, the Sector Commander of the Ogun Sector Command, expressed concern over the recklessness of some motorists on the highway who refuse to obey traffic rules.
In a statement, he commiserated with the families of the crash victims and wished a quick recovery to those who are still alive.
