Sadiq Umar Abubakar Gombe remains the legitimate National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), as affirmed by the National Executive Committee (NEC). No court has removed Dr. Gombe from his position, and there are no court cases concerning SDP leadership; current legal matters pertain to primary elections in Ekiti and Osun States.

The Court of Appeal judgment on the Ekiti SDP primary election did not address SDP leadership issues, and Shehu Musa Gabam was not involved in the suit. The SDP will not engage with Gabam, who is facing criminal proceedings, and emphasizes that leadership matters are internal party affairs beyond court jurisdiction.

The SDP is focused on presenting credible candidates for the 2027 general elections and is strengthening its organizational structures and membership nationwide.

The party is committed to promoting social justice, democratic consolidation, and national redemption, positioning itself as a credible alternative for Nigeria’s transformation.
