NYCN Rejects Renegade Faction: Sokubo Sara-Igbe Continues Suspension as President

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) reaffirms its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the welfare of Nigerian youth in response to recent attempts by a group associated with the former president of the NYCN to undermine the suspension of Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo.

The Acting President, Comrade Akoshile Mukhtar, continues to lead with a commitment to fostering responsible youth representation, contrary to the claims of the opposing group.

The NYCN believes that accountability is a fundamental principle for any democratic organization, especially one representing the interests of Nigerian youth, and the call for Ambassador Sukubo’s accountability is not an attack but a demand for transparency.

The NYCN’s primary purpose is to serve Nigerian youth, and its leadership should prioritize their well-being.

Internal conflicts should be resolved transparently to maintain trust in the leadership’s ability to advocate for youth interests. Attempts to deflect attention from core issues by discrediting accountability efforts raise doubts about commitment to openness and honesty.

True leaders address concerns during crises. Calling for Ambassador Sukubo to address allegations is not personal but an expectation of accountability from a leader representing Nigerian youth.

Amid distractions, the NYCN calls for unity and prioritizing youth needs over personal disputes for constructive engagement.

Advocating for an impartial investigation into the allegations against Ambassador Sukubo is not condemnation but an opportunity for truth.

The Acting President, Comrade Akoshile Mukhtar, remains committed to navigating these challenges.

The NYCN urges Ambassador Sukubo to address allegations and contribute to restoring trust within the organization, emphasizing that accountability and unity are essential for effectively representing Nigerian youth.
