Nigeria’s N27.5tn budget for 2024 assures transformation, says the Government.
The budget demonstrates a commitment to fiscal responsibility, Idris said.
During the 2023 annual public lecture of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Kaduna State, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s proposed N27.5 trillion 2024 budget will bring transformation to the country once it is passed by federal lawmakers. According to Idris, the budget aligns fiscal strategies and priorities with broader national development objectives, which is in line with President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
Idris believes that the budget signifies a pivotal step towards the realisation of the agenda and will bring tangible improvements to the lives of Nigerians. He highlighted that it shows a commitment to fiscal responsibility and focuses on development priorities. Before the budget presentation, President Tinubu had assented to a Supplementary Budget, signed some landmark Bills and Executive Orders into law, and inaugurated special presidential initiatives on fiscal policy reform, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Food Security, MSME Support, and other critical areas of the economy.
The minister acknowledged that the current administration came into office at a challenging time in Nigeria’s history, but the President has confronted all the inherited challenges head-on. He called on Nigerians to acknowledge that the goal has been to deliver relief to the Nigerian people and lay the groundwork for true and lasting prosperity.
