Ekiti Police Deployed Helicopter And Armoured Carriers In Response To The Killing Of Monarchs.

The two monarchs, the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Ogunsola, were tragically killed on their way back from a meeting in Irele-Ekiti on Monday.

In response to this heinous act, the Nigeria Police Force has deployed helicopters and armored personnel carriers to Ekiti State.

President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, to ensure that all those responsible are apprehended and brought to justice.

In a statement on Thursday, the Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the President ordered the police boss to fish out the perpetrators.

Adejobi, a police spokesperson, stated that the police have ordered strategic deployments to deal with a recent incident in the Eporo-Ekiti area of the state.

He also assured the residents that kidnapped pupils and teachers would be rescued.

This statement was made during a visit by Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji and Senate Majority Leader Opeyemi Bamidele to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the Force Headquarters on Thursday.

The IGP emphasized the Force’s unrelenting commitment to addressing the challenge, bringing the perpetrators to book, and rescuing the kidnapped pupils safely.

In addition, the IGP has ordered the deployment of a Police helicopter, Armored Personnel Carriers, IRT and STS operatives, and Police Mobile Force personnel to augment the manpower already deployed to Ekiti for the special operations, the statement partly read.
